← Above the mage!

Chapter 93 [Remarks on the launch]

Chapter 93 【Remarks on the launch】

Important things to say beforehand: It will be on the shelves tomorrow!

This is my second book. To be honest, I can barely be considered a veteran author, but to be honest, the new book issue is still a bit confusing.

After all, the overall journey of the previous book Sword Master was a bit bumpy. The new book was published one after another, and it took me four months to write it before it was put on the shelves. This Mage has just gone through the new book process.

Generally speaking, I have a lot of emotions and a lot to say.

Authors, even if they are just online writers, should have a strong desire to express themselves.

But I also know that brothers are here to read novels and are not interested in my rambling nonsense, so I usually reduce my sense of existence.

The author's remarks on the shelf are one of the few opportunities for the author to talk to himself in a reasonable and reasonable manner, so let's take this opportunity to say a few more words:

 1. "Above the Mage!" ” would be a great story.

Your grades are obviously not good and your writing is a mess, how dare you say that?

 Nothing else.

Because I like this story very much.

So it is an excellent story to me.

 Nothing else, just like it.

Similarly, because I like it, I will try my best to finish this story well.

  2. Book title.

The title of the book should not have had the "!", so it would have been called "Above the Mage".

But "Above the Mage" is occupied, so I can only add "!".

It was annoying at first, but after thinking about it carefully, I couldn’t use this title without it.

So after a long time, it doesn’t bother you anymore.

  3. Regarding the style of the book

First of all, although the background is Western fantasy, this is because the mage and the Western fantasy background are a natural match, and it would be too confusing to change to another background.

However, when coding, I did not deliberately choose words and sentences to fit Western fantasy, nor did I deliberately avoid Chinese words.

The reason is very simple. Because it is written for Chinese readers, there is no need to increase the reading threshold.

And this world was created by me, and I legally enjoy the final right of interpretation.

I even tried my best to lower the reading threshold that may arise in the Western fantasy setting. For example, I cunningly used "Chinese" foreign names for the characters' names: the same will be true for future important characters such as Gothe, Amy, and Pierre.

To tell the truth: The background of the mage is Western fantasy, but the foundation is still "fantasy".

After all, the classification I gave it is fantasy and otherworldly continent, not fantasy.

However, this does not affect that it will be a very pure mage text, and there will be no fighting spirit warriors or the like.

Hmm, and it will still be a "clichéd" novel. Like Swordsman, it will have many "clichéd" plots and an extremely "clichéd" ending.

Of course, it is very different from sword cultivation.

After all, sword cultivators and mages are very different.

  4. Prices and Economic System

As you can see, prices are an extremely important part of this book.

I stitched together the price system of medieval Europe and 19th century Europe.

Why do we need to sew like this?

Because this is an extraordinary world, the gap between the rich and the poor is too big, the people at the bottom are still living in the Middle Ages, but the high-level people can already enjoy many alchemical creations similar to modern technology.

In addition, most of the prices of ordinary items in this article can be found by searching the data for introduction to scale armor, so the prices of these items should be quite different from the actual prices.

For example, rye bread costs 4 pounds and 6 copper coins.

However, there are a few items with prices. I searched the information on Baidu and could not find specific data. There was only a rough introduction, so I could only make calculations based on common sense and the prices of known items.

For example, regarding the price of wheat bread, what I found is this sentence: "Historical records show that the price of wheat bread can range from several times to more than ten times that of rye bread."

There will definitely be blind spots in thinking, so if any good friends find out that there is a problem with the price of any item, you can leave a comment and let me know.

If there is a problem, please correct it, but you cannot use the sentence "I think there is a problem". You have to show your basis to your brother!

There are still traces of the prices of ordinary items, but the prices of extraordinary items can only be set by myself.

For the price increase between levels, I use the step increase formula, and the multiple is 4.64.

The pricing of different types of extraordinary items generally follows one principle: the price of repairable items of the same tier is about ten times the price of disposable items, and the maintenance fee is the same.

Following these two principles, pricing should be reasonable in most cases.

But there will definitely be some ill-considered aspects. If any good brother finds a bug, he can also point it out.

A more reasonable worldview needs to be improved by everyone.

  5. About dnd

Most of the spells in the book are taken from dnd.

Because in terms of spell settings, dnd's spell system is undoubtedly the most complete and rigorous.

But it is not all copied, and some magic modifications will be made, so when reading, don’t completely copy DND, let alone use the settings of DND to diss your friends.

In addition, only the spell entries are taken from dnd, and other background settings are created by myself.

Also, before writing this book, I had no contact with DND at all. All my understanding of DND was memorized by reading the information.

So if there are any interesting spell usages that I, as a dabbler, don’t know, but readers know about them, you can let me know in the comments. Thanks!

——Finally, if you have any interesting ideas about the direction of "adding points" to certain spells, you can also post them in the comment area. I think they will be useful!

 6. Update

In the opinion of most readers and even the author, the mage's achievements so far are very average.

To put it bluntly, this is a problem where the author may run away at any time.

But actually, for me, I am quite satisfied with the current results.

After all, it took four months for my friend's Sword Master to be written before it was put on the shelves. When it was put on the shelves, the total collection was less than 1,500.

But in the end, 1,500 collections were put on the shelves, and the 50 or 60-ordered Sword Master has been completed with more than 3 million words. The average order now is 5,000+.

When the mage wrote for fifteen days, the collection exceeded 1,500, and now it is 1.150,000 collections.

What more bicycles do you want?

Having a beginning and an end is the author's conscience, and I will continue to maintain my conscience.

So don’t worry about my buddy running away.

We strive to make efforts later.

If you have a good swordsman who has followed you all the way, you should know that the biggest shortcoming of my brother is not the writing style, not the plot (disclaimer: I am not saying that these two are the same), but the update.

My updates are really bad, I admit it.

Therefore, updating is "a best effort and a guarantee."

Try your best to maintain stable updates.

  Guaranteed to be completed.

7. About the Protagonist

The protagonist in my novel is lawful, neutral and kind-hearted. Anyway, I will not write a particularly violent protagonist.

  ——I can’t write it either.

So in some storylines, the decisions made by the protagonist may not be in line with the wishes of some readers.

Let me use what I said when I was doing this sword practice: This is a typical difference in thinking. You may not like or agree with it, but you cannot get angry because of it or feel that this choice is wrong (just words and expressions).

The identity of Gaode as a mathematics student at Peking University is mainly because I think "magic" and "mathematics" are actually very similar in temperament and have something in common.

In my opinion, the reason why the protagonist can become the protagonist is not only the golden finger, but also personal ability.

The students of Peking University’s Department of Mathematics are Gaode’s “personal abilities”.

In addition, I did graduate from the Department of Mathematics as an undergraduate, and am now working in statistics, but I am not a top student at Peking University, and I have graduated three or four years ago.

Hence, whenever any content related to mathematics appears in the book, most of it is based on current research. If it is embarrassing, please forgive me and don’t take it too seriously.

After all, what I write is a novel, not an academic paper.

  7. A little miscellaneous talk

Miscellaneous talk 1: If there are any good friends who followed the last book, you may remember that I said when I wrote Sword Cultivation that if there is another book, I will definitely not write about the system.

Hums, I always do what I say, so "Wind Spirit Moon Shadow" is really not a system! Not really!

Chat 2: I spent two days reading the new book during the first round. I found that reading it was really troublesome, and most of my good friends didn’t like reading it, so I simply ignored it and let it go.

The same applies after it is put on the shelf. Unless it is a summary at the end of the volume, try not to include any content other than the main text of the story, which will reduce the author's own sense of presence.

Chatting 3: I just saw a comment from a reader in the comment area today, and I can’t understand why magic potion is required to build a spell model.

I can understand the readers' inability to understand, after all, I haven't written it yet.

Even if I write it, I still can’t understand it. After all, everyone has different ideas.

And because I can’t understand it, I can just say a few sentences and it doesn’t matter to me.

As an online article author, if you don’t have this ability to withstand pressure, there is no need to write online articles.

I just found that there are still comments below: I copied the setting of the Lord of Best Friends.

Humbling, seeing this, I couldn't help but sigh deeply.

This is that reality is more like a novel than a novel. The young author is like this. He has no human rights and has to be suppressed by passers-by.

For example, many readers of this swordsmanship game said that I was following the popularity of Senior Brother Jianjian, but in fact, I am not a Jianjian stream at all, and I don’t even look like one. This made me dissatisfied because I had not developed my ability to withstand stress at that time.

The fact is that when I decided on the title of the book and created the book, I had never heard of Wenjianliu at all, let alone writing for Wenjianliu. Moreover, at that time, Senior Brother Wenjianliu had not even been put on the shelves and the popularity had not yet started, so why bother?

In order to avoid suspicion, I have not watched Senior Brother Jianjian so far, for fear that some similar plot would appear and I would be criticized and ignored.

As for this book, I haven’t even written what the magic potion is, but I have already been accused of copying the setting of the Lord of Best Friends (sigh again) because of the name “magic potion”.

Talk 4: "Above the Mage!" "In the eyes of people who don't like it, the plot may be a bit cliched, a bit bland, or even a bit poisonous, but at least one thing I can boldly say is that it is a quite unique story.

Because I don’t follow any book or genre, I just write the story I want to write.

 A cliché: about "water".

Have seen the testimonials since it was put on the shelf. Dear brothers, you should also feel the style of this book. It is more detailed and can write a lot of details.

Of course, this is my own statement, and many readers will simply and crudely define it as "water".

But no matter what, one is that we have worked hard to check a lot of information, and the setting background must be drawn bit by bit, so as to increase the texture of the world.

The simplest example is prices. If there are not enough detailed descriptions of daily life, in everyone's opinion, there will definitely be no difference between 300 gold coins and 30,000 gold coins. It is just a numerical difference, which has no real sense at all.

The other is that online plots require logic, and logic needs to be foreshadowed.

    Give an example.

For example, in reality, I need 500,000 yuan, and I never buy scratch-off tickets. Today I went out and bought a scratch-off ticket and won 500,000 yuan. Is it logical?

It doesn’t add up, but that’s what happens.

But can online articles be written like this?

No, if you dare to write like this, you guys will definitely hate me to death.

 Then what should I write?

I have to first pave the way for "I" to have the habit of buying scratch-off tickets before the demand for half a million appears.

It would be better to set up a subplot in which the scratch-off tickets have been slow to sell recently and the merchant decided to release more lottery tickets to increase the winning rate to increase people's motivation to buy scratch-off tickets.

At least after this double foreshadowing, we can more logically lead to the plot of "I" winning 500,000 in scratch-off tickets to solve the current problem.

 That’s what it means.

 8. On the shelves

My first goal in writing is to finish writing the novels I want to write, no matter how good or bad my grades are. If I can still make money, that would be great.

My job is not bad, it is stable and barely enough to make a living, so I don’t have to suffer.

In addition, I actually saw a lot of good brothers who came from Shangben Swordsmanship. To be honest, I was very touched.

But I still have to say that Mage and Sword Cultivator are two completely different styles of books. If you like them, of course you are welcome.

But if you don’t like it, that’s okay, you can wait for the next book.

Perhaps I will return to being a fairy again.

Don't choose to subscribe just because you like sword cultivators, even if you don't like mages, you will be ashamed!

After all, it is not easy for everyone to make money.

I hope that all the good brothers who subscribe to Mage will do it because they really like this story and not for other reasons.

Finally, with a part-time job and very slow coding, writing 4,000 to 5,000 words a day does take a lot of effort, sacrificing most of your personal time.

Hence, my brother works hard to code.

Hummies, if you like it, please support the genuine subscription.

  There's nothing wrong with it!
